Exodus 15:2, ESV

The LORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him, my father's God, and I will exalt Him.

There are a lot of stories in the Bible.

Besides the teaching stories called parables, there are also lots of true stories, history. For example, the parting of the Red Sea in Exodus 14. Just like the invention of the light bulb, the parting of the Red Sea is a real historical event.

The Israelites were trapped between the powerful Egyptian army and the Red Sea. But God sent a mighty wind to blow through the night, and opened a path through the sea, and the land that had been beneath the water wasn't the muddy mush you would expect to find under a sea, it was dry! It was solid enough that all the Israelites and their herds of animals could cross it. They walked across the Red Sea on dry land between two huge walls of water! The Egyptian army charged in after them, and God brought the water back together and drowned the entire army! When the Israelites saw what God had done for them, they sang the song found in Exodus 15.

The miracles in the Bible, are amazing and true. But they all happened thousands of years ago. What do they mean to you? The answer is found in Exodus 15:2, "This is my God."

The same God who opened a path for the Israelites is with you. Whatever your Red Sea is, as overwhelming as it is, God can make a way through it.

As you read the amazing miracles that God did in the Bible, you can remind yourself, "This is my God."

Think about it...

Has there been a Red Sea in your life that God brought you through?

How did He make a path?

Did He give you wisdom to work it out?

Did He give you endurance to walk through it?

Does remembering past Red Seas help you to trust God to lead you through things you are facing today, or may face in the future?

Take a moment to be with God

Tell God about any struggle you are facing. Psalm 62:8, "Pour out your heart before Him." Don't hold back. Pouring out your heart can include stuff like, "This stinks, make it stop!" God understands why you feel that way.

This is God's response, "So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
